Where can I Buy your CDs?

This is really an issue for independent releases
and I like to explicate few things.

First to understand is

there is no label, no promotion agency, no MTV ...

That basically means there are no fixed marketing levels.
Shops and stores dealing with independent artists
come and go like the sun and moon on a daily basis.

When I send a release to some of my major distributors
like cdbaby in usa,
it is not assured on how many shops and stores they can send it.
Some shops are closing, others are opening.

As a rule of thumb you can visit shops like Apple iTunes and Napster
for digital downloads
and CDbaby or Amazon for retail CDs.

At the Internet Shop site of omkarmusic.com

I currently try to give an overview of topic major distributors
due to the associated releases
and to keep visitors updated of fundamental changes.

Another point to understand is,
each and every step of production is funded by myself.

So I have to decide in what way it makes sense to deliver releases.

Some are good to go with physical units (CDs) and digtal release,
others are good to go for downloads only.

Thats also a reason for not having a fixed market place handy.

Update:

There is now a direct shop corner of omkarmusic.com available
and to be found here .

No Artist Photo ?
Written by Omkar
Sunday, 07 October 2007

This have been asked on numerous mails.

To finally drop a note on this:

No ... no artist photo ...
I have a problem with photos since my childhood.

Whenever a shot was made I ripped it into pieces,
because I always had the feeling this is not me.
And it is an impression and personal quirk till today.

To have to have a photo for the driver license
was such a painful experience and I`m done with photos.

To support your imagination as a cure,
just imagine me to look like an ugly frog
where even a kiss wouldn`t help.
Would you ask for a photo ?

I understand for some marketing reasons this is a bad initial point,
but I invite you to be focused on the music and to forget the person.

Advertisements on your Site ?
Written by Omkar

Yes, it costs visitors just a click

on those advertisement fields
and they are embedded in the sense of supporting
the sites omkarmusik.info and omkarmusic.com

I call them sponsors

helping me covering the internet costs over the year,
just becuase visitors are clicking on the advertisements.

There is no way to get rich with it,
but there is a way to decrease the monthly costs
for webhosting, traffic, domain etc.

I have no influence due to content
or the way it appears on the site.

So sometimes it is shown in a calm text format,
sometimes it is moving, blinking and what not.

It may sometimes appear a bit irritating
to see something like an illuminated advertising
besides a quite and calm intended artist site,
but please accept it the way it is.

My thanks goes to partners like Google, Oxado
and individual partners accepting my site for sponsoring
like AOL and Netraver.
