A set of songs dealing with African motives

They "tell" little storys of landscape impressions
and moods at daytime and in the night.

This Album was originally intended
to be composed just for fun.
After positive feedbacks I decided
to share it with others for free.
What I liked to do on this songs
was a merge of soft pads
on the back and percussions as the structure.
And to use vocals I don`t undertsand
on it`s context,
I was forced to feel the meaning.

The themes in detail

 

Fluids
Can be imagined as to be on a marketplace in the early morning.
You do shopping,you hear the mumble of the crowd,
you see all this various colors of the spices and vegetables.
The crowd moves and carries your body from here to there,
you get the feeling,you become like a liquid drop in a water stream.

 

 

Moonlute Ride
Somewhere in the Savanna under scattered trees.
The noises of lions and other animals come to your ears.
There is a feeling you have to comunicate with this scene
and you unpack a lute and play and giving back the grace.
You ride the lute.

 

 

Eibo!Eibo!
This proud and beautiful woman.
Never try to argue with her.
Especialy when you are in love.
You will always loose.

 

 

Twistin Downtown
Some kids are playing in the backyard.
Some do their homework,some giggeling.
Some doing the gum-twist very fast.
It`s pretty hot,but they are so full of energy and joy.

 

 

Outdoor
In a small village,the patrol lamps hands you light.
A man is doing his last round for the day
to proof everything is alright
and the family can sleep in peace.
Some apes there.

 

 

Dawn
There is this deep red sky.
Some front-soaring from the far behind.

The challenge was to create a figure,
not knowing exactly what kind of being it is.

"Friendly spoken,I still don`t know
who or what Shaku is.
But it is breathing,it has a birth
and it has it`s death.
So whenever there is a start point
and an end
there must be something alive.

The very point I assume is
there is a chance to feel with a being.
Ever had a Teddybear ?
Holding a piece of textile
in your arms
and been accompanied
by a pair of glass eyes.
And yet it may helped you
to bring you closer
in understanding
what love and compassion could be."

Shaku`s Birth
Birth is a kind of hard job to do.
Not only for the mother but also for Shaku.
Where is he ? What`s going on ?
There is fear and there is hope and future.
A trembling something.

 

Shaku`s Theme
The theme appeares in the last part
of the Shaku`s Birth track
introduced by the solo oboe and woodwinds.
It looks like every being has a theme,
an inner growth theme,
introduced as soon as born.
Music allows to vary and play with it.

 

God Bless Ya
The young Shaku.
A bit jazzy,a bit noisy.
Energy of the youth.

 

River of Life
Imagine Shaku to walk to a river.
It`s a warm bright day.
Deep green shores.
The sound of the river
invites to take the clothes of,
to jump in and to allow the body
to be moved by the water.
After being so refreshed
it`s a good idea to lay down in the grass
and feel the warmth of the sun.

 

Skyscraper
It`s time to look around at the evening of Shaku`s life.
Shaku sits at the roof of a skyscraper.
From there one can see the complete city.
One can see the house where one was born.
One can see the cemetery.
A cool and fresh breeze opens the mind
and sharpens the senses.

 

Farewell
Farewell Shaku.
